Los Angeles Washington State University fired its football team head coach for refusing to be vaccinated. Nick Rolovich played for Rhein Fire, among others, in the early 2000s.
The University of Washington State in the northwest of the USA has fired almost the entire coaching staff of its renowned football team for refusing to receive a corona vaccination. This was confirmed by the college.
Head coach Nick Rolovich, 2002 and 2003 player in the Düsseldorf team Rhein Fire in the NFL Europe, as well as four assistant coaches have therefore let a deadline pass before they can be vaccinated as required for continued employment at the university. “This is a sad day for our football program, but our priority has always been and will remain the health of young people,” said Sporting Director Pat Chun.
The 42-year-old Rolovich, who received an annual salary of around 3.2 million dollars (three million euros), had refused the vaccination for “private reasons,” sources reported of religious motivation. Rolovich had tried to get a waiver but was denied it.
All Washington State University employees must be vaccinated. The football team Cougars plays in the Pac-12 conference of the highest college class.
