Juarez City.- Crop production has increased by 30 to 50 percent with the application of the soil improver in the fields of Samalayuca and other towns in the rural area of the municipality, reported the director of Rural Development of the Municipality, Arturo Luna Bernadac.
A soil improver is a substance that helps the soil and its natural elements, with the aim of improving the quality of farm products, explained Luna Bernadac.
The municipal government provides this product to farmers to help them improve their crops, said the official during a tour to learn about the results obtained in field production.
He stressed that the substance is environmentally friendly, as it is 100 percent organic; meanwhile, producers in the region have benefited from a 30 to 50 percent increase in production.
Zucchini, chili, tomatillo and melon crops were visited on this occasion and in these places it was possible to see the work that the day laborers do every day in Samalayuca.
The producers explained that squash is mostly for local consumption, a vegetable that can be found in the city’s supermarkets, but is also sold to other entities such as Sonora.
He added that if direct support to producers continues, the countryside will continue to be strengthened, considering that Juárez is not only industrial, since the municipality has ways for its primary sector to become increasingly stronger.
