USA: They arrest an armed subject near the house of a Supreme Court judge

An armed man was arrested this Wednesday near the house in which he resides United States Supreme Court Justice Brett M. Kavanaughinformed Efe a spokeswoman for the highest court.

The surroundings of Kavanaugh’s house had become the scene of demonstrations in recent weeks. in response to the leak of the draft of a sentence that indicates that the Supreme Court will repeal this month the right to abortion in the United States.

The spokeswoman said the arrested man had made threats against Kavanaugh, but did not specify whether his anger was due to the possibility of abortion protections being suspended.

Kavanaugh, nominated by former President Donald Trump (2017-2021)is one of the magistrates of the Supreme Court who favors the abolition of abortion, according to the draft of the sentence leaked in May by the Political medium.

The Washington Post, citing sources familiar with the investigation, ensures that the detainee had expressed his intention to murder Kavanaugh and he was angry about the repeal of the right to abortion, as well as the recent shootings that have shaken the country.

The arrest occurred in the middle of the night, at approximately 1:50 am, detailed the spokeswoman for the Supreme Court. According to The Washington Post, the man did not get close to Kavanaugh’s house, in Montgomery County (Maryland), near the US capital; and he was arrested in one of the surrounding streets.
