A case still unsolved: abandoned by two women on the steps of a church, she was the daughter of Tina and Harold Clouse, found dead in 1981 and identified only in 2021
HOUSTON. Texas authorities found “Bebe Holly,” a girl who disappeared in 1981 and is now 42, who had become a real case in US newspapers. The American media reported it. “She has been located, she is alive and well,” say the authorities.
Holly’s case is still unsolved: in 1981 the bodies of a woman and a man were found near Houston. Their identity remained mysterious until 2021 when, thanks to new genetic technologies, they were recognized as Tina and Harold Clouse. The deceased couple had a small daughter, Holly. The child had been abandoned on a church steps by “two women from a nomadic religious group” and raised by an Arizona family.
“Finding Holly is a birthday present from heaven since she reappeared on her father’s birthday,” said her biological grandmother Donna Casasanta. «I have prayed for over 40 years and I have found her».
Authorities have been looking for Holly since her parents went missing in 1980. Two bodies, believed to be her parents, were found in a wooded area in Houston, but could not be identified at the time. Tina Gail Linn Clouse and Harold Dean Clouse Jr. had moved from Florida to Texas shortly before they disappeared, along with their newborn daughter. When the two bodies were found, the child was missing.
It was decades before genetic genealogy could be used in 2021 to identify with certainty the bodies that were found as Clouses. Dean had been beaten to death and Tina strangled, according to him Houston Chronicle.
