Usa, Joe Biden ventures and re-nominates despite the image at its lowest and almost 80 years old
In a normal country, an election scheduled for three years, in 2024, would not make news, except that we are talking about the most important and powerful democracy in the world, America. A democracy which, at the moment, is led by a president, Joe Biden, in total image crisis and with almost 80 years on his shoulders. It is true that even in these parts the rule of our unattainable applies Giulio Andreotti, “power wears out those who don’t have it” but Biden’s willingness to reapply seems to be a good bet. Jen Psaki, White House spokesperson, has in fact confirmed that Joe Biden wants to run for re-election. There are many observers who believe the move made to send a message of confidence on the success of the great social projects that the democratic administration is painstakingly carrying out.
US, Biden in a decline in popularity continues
Biden, in a continuous image crisis (from 57% to 42% according to Gallup data) never recovered after the bad impression in Afghanistan, he wants to show that he has no intention of giving up. Nor in 2022 leaving the presidency to his deputy Kamala Harris, which has so far disappointed many expectations, nor in 2024 when, most likely, it could compete with its old enemy Donald Trump. The recent electoral defeat in the governorate of the state of Virginia it triggered alarms in the Democratic Party and perhaps contributed to the decision to run again.
US, Biden the oldest president
But the personal data is not in favor of Joe Biden who is now the oldest president in office at 79 years old. An electoral competition a 81 years does not seem to be a “walk in the park” although the president’s personal physician, Kevin O’Connor, said his patient is “a 78-year-old man in good health and vigorous, capable of fulfilling his duties.” The president’s popularity problem is also accompanied by that of his deputy, Kamala Harris, who has an even lower popularity than that of his boss. A Suffolk University-USA Today poll released in early November recorded 27.8% versus Biden’s 37.8%. In short, a set of factors that push us to consider the forward flight of Joe Biden something very risky.
