Former retired US military intelligence officer Rebecca Koffler warned of disaster in the event of a war with Russia over Ukraine. Her article published Fox News.
According to her, in a hypothetical clash, Washington will face massive losses. “A war like this would be impossible to win and the result would not cost the lives of American citizens,” she said.
Koffler believes that, in self-defense, Moscow can resort to a preventive response by inflicting devastating space and cyber attacks on the United States. She noted that with its recent tests of anti-satellite missiles, Russia has demonstrated the ability to shoot down US satellites.
According to the former intelligence officer, as soon as the first strike is struck, a nuclear war may well begin in the world and the American energy infrastructure will be in jeopardy. Koffler also stated that no one was able to defeat Russia on its territory. “It is enough to ask Napoleon, Hitler and the Swedes, whose army was defeated by Russian troops under the command of Peter I in 1709,” she stressed.
Koffler believes that Ukraine is not among the vital security interests of the United States. She also added that the security, territorial integrity and long-term survival of the United States does not depend on Ukraine.
Forbes previously wrote that in the event of a war with Russia, Ukraine would be defeated because of its artillery. The publication claims that most of the Ukrainian artillery is outdated and in need of repair. According to the publication, “on paper, the 145,000th army of Ukraine, consisting of volunteers and conscripts, has a powerful artillery arsenal of at least 1,800 cannons and multiple launch rocket systems,” which are “incapable of shooting.”
