São Paulo, 19 – Rail transportation of grain in the United States totaled 22,944 wagons in the week ending September 7, according to a report from the country’s Department of Agriculture (USDA) published this Thursday, 19. The volume represents a 4% drop compared to the previous week and a 26% increase compared to the corresponding period last year.
Grain transportation by barge totaled 367,468 tons in the week ending September 14. The volume represents a 7% drop compared to the previous week and a 183% increase compared to the same period last year.
In the week ending September 12, 20 vessels were loaded with grain at Gulf terminals, down 20% year-on-year. In the 10 days beginning September 13, 60 vessels were expected to be loaded, up 58% from the same period last year.
