The United States Congress has approved a bill that allows federal agencies to be funded until February 18, avoiding the risk of stopping the government during the holiday season. With 69 votes in favor against 28 against, the Senate supported the measure previously approved by the House. President Joe Biden is expected to sign it by today for it to become law.
If the bill was not passed, millions of public sector workers would have been left without pay at Christmas and New Year, while museums and parks would have been closed.
