A medical team at East Arafat Hospital succeeded in performing an urgent surgery on an eighty-year-old Indonesian pilgrim suffering from a perforation and internal bleeding in the intestine as a result of an ulcer at the end of the stomach and the beginning of the duodenum. The perforation was repaired and the pilgrim was treated.
The Makkah Al-Mukarramah Health Cluster explained that the patient was transported to the hospital with the medical convoy from the Medina Health Cluster, to enable him to perform the rituals and complete his treatment plan, as he was suffering from severe bleeding and anemia and his health condition was unstable. His condition was immediately examined and evaluated by the surgical team. Completing the procedures and diagnosis, a decision was made to transfer the patient to the operating room on the day of Arafat, and the hole was repaired and treatment was completed.
He added that the patient’s condition stabilized after the operation, the level of hemoglobin in the blood increased, and all effects of poisoning that were present before the operation improved, and he is in good health in the inpatient ward.
