The 23-year-old was actually not on the road too fast with his e-scooter. The Swiss police checked the young man because of the lighting. Then the ride was over.
Glis – Around 11:45 p.m., the “agents of the Valais cantonal police” stopped an “electric scooter because of its lighting,” the Swiss police announced on Thursday. The light, however, was probably the least of the problems. During the check, it turned out that the e-scooter had “extreme acceleration”.
Police stop electric scooters with a maximum speed of 120
“A measurement on the test roller resulted in a maximum speed of the e-scooter of 120 km/h. This was equipped with a motor with an output of 4,000 watts,” writes the canton police. For comparison: An “electric scooter” is approved for use on public roads in Switzerland up to a maximum speed of 20 km/h and a maximum motor power of 500 watts.
The canton police immediately confiscated the illegally souped-up e-scooters. The 23-year-old faces a charge. (ml)
E-scooters are particularly annoying for many pedestrians. Munich is now tightening the rules for parking e-scooters.
