Cruz Azul is living a time of change. The cement team failed greatly in the Grita México 2021 tournament after winning the Liga MX title a semester earlier. The celestes fell to Monterrey in the playoffs and could not get their ticket to the league to seek to endorse the championship. The scenario of the capital team is not very encouraging in the short term.
According to the most recent reports, the Celestial Machine will suffer a rout in the coming weeks. Journalist David Medrano, a contributor to TV Azteca and Diario Récord, shared in his column that up to eight Cruzazulinos elements could leave the team for the Clausura 2022 tournament.
These are the elements that do not enter into Juan Máximo Reynoso’s plans for the next semester and that would have the door open to leave the cement team:
The talented midfielder ends his contract and has an agreement with Celta de Vigo to enter Spanish football as a free agent. It is the only safe way out so far.
The Peruvian media is another of the players who end their contract and it is not known if they will continue in the blue squad.
The Argentine attacker has a secondary role in the blue squad and has not yet renewed. Will he go free or will he stay with Cruz Azul?
The Argentine forward is the favorite villain of Cruz Azul fans and has a foot and a half outside the institution. That failure against Pumas will be remembered for a long time in La Noria.
The Ecuadorian striker had his moments throughout the tournament, but could not be the decisive player that Cruz Azul expected. It could get out of the template.
The veteran left-back would be another of the players who do not enter into the plans of the Peruvian technical director.
‘Quick’ Mendoza came to Cruz Azul for this tournament, but was injured early in the tournament. He played just two games at Grita México 2021.
The Venezuelan midfielder was one of the reinforcements of the Machine for this season, however, he had very few minutes and almost did not count for Reynoso. He would go out for the next tournament.
