Hussle was shot on the street at least ten times in Los Angeles in 2019. It was a dispute in which Hussle accused his shooter of “calving”. Both parties had belonged to the same criminal gang in their youth.
Hussle’s career had just taken off in 2019, and his death caused a great stir in the music world.
A memorial service was organized for him in the year, which was attended by, among others Stevie Wonder and Snoop Dogg. Also a former president of the United States Barack Obama wrote a letter about the event, which was read at the event.
In addition to that, Hussle was later awarded two Grammy awards posthumously.
Hussle the killer did not deny shooting Hussle, but his lawyers argued that it was a reckless killing rather than a premeditated murder.
A long trial was held on the matter, at the end of which the jury concluded that the killing had been planned.
The verdict of Hussle’s killer will be read on September 15. He could face up to life in prison.
