The unsigned order repeats many conspiracy theories that have since been overturned.
Of the United States former president Donald Trumpin an unsigned order created by the administration to seize the ballot machines for the 2020 presidential election has become public. The document has been published by the National Archives, and an online magazine Politico has seen it.
A three-page document dated 16 December 2020 orders the Department of Defense to seize, preserve and analyze all voting machines and electronically collected materials.
In the state of Georgia, for example, an electronic touch screen was used for voting. The document reiterates many conspiracy theories about hacked voting machines that have since been refuted.
According to Politico, the document would have given the defense minister 60 days to report on the election. The magazine estimates that the idea might have been to extend Trump’s presidency in this way until at least mid-February 2021.
Now the document revealed focuses on voting machines manufactured by Dominion. The document claims that Dominion is “owned or strongly controlled and influenced by foreign agents, countries and interests.”
In addition, the document says Dominion’s voting machines are made to commit “systematic fraud”.
There are also similarities in the order of precedence to the material used by the Chief of Staff of the Trump-era White House Mark Meadows handed over the Capitol attack to the Committee of Inquiry.

Meadows initially collaborated with the committee and provided it with thousands of documents, including text messages and emails sent on the day of the Capitol attack. Since then, however, he has refused to testify in the investigation. The order now revealed is part of a file of more than 750 documents submitted to the committee.
