United States Hurricane Ida has landed in southwestern Cuba – later hitting the United States as a dangerous Category 4 hurricane

The East is expected to reach the U.S. South Coast over the weekend, and high-risk areas have been evacuated, at least in the state of Louisiana.

Typhoon Ida has landed in southwestern Cuba as a first-class hurricane, says Insmet, the meteorological agency of the country in the Caribbean. The storm hit the province of Pinar del Rio in Finnish time from early night.

According to Insmet, the storm winds in the East have blown at about 35.8 meters per second.

The storm is predicted to hit the United States later as a very dangerous quadruple-category hurricane, says the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC).
