United States | Former star Fox News host says he plans to interview Putin

Tucker Carlson says that he is currently in Moscow, and that the interview will take place “soon”.

FOX NEWS former host and political commentator Tucker Carlson says on message service X that he plans to interview the Russian president Vladimir Putin.

In the four and a half minute video, Carlson says that he is currently in Moscow, and that the interview will take place “soon”.

“There are of course risks in doing this kind of interview. That's why we've been thinking about this carefully for several months,” Carlson says in the video.

He justifies the interview as follows: “First of all, it's our job. We are journalists, our job is to convey information to people”.

Carlson also says that the majority of Americans are not aware of the ongoing war in Ukraine. He calls the war a human catastrophe, and mentions its global consequences for the economy and cooperation between different countries.

In his program, Carlson appealed to the audience with much the same themes as Donald Trump: he mocked Democrats, liberals and the rights of sexual minorities and incited xenophobia. During the corona pandemic, the central theme was the barking of corona restrictions.

After Russia launched a full-scale war of aggression in Ukraine last February, parts of his program was advised to present in the Russian state media.

Carlson got fired From Fox News in April 2023.
