Talking to reporters in Begusarai on Thursday, Giriraj Singh said that some states are bringing a law to stop love jihad, the law to stop love jihad should be implemented in the whole country. He said that in view of the demand of time, the government should strictly act on love jihad.
Recently in Uttar Pradesh, there was talk of bringing a law against Love Jihad. Citing a decision of the High Court, the Chief Minister of the state Yogi Adityanath had announced a law against Love Jihad. Speaking on this, Yogi Adityanath had said that this will follow the court order as well as honor the sisters and daughters.
At the same time, the Madhya Pradesh government is bringing a law called Love Jihad Freedom of Religion Act 2020. The government has drafted it and it will be passed in the December-January assembly session and sent to the President. In such a situation, it is believed that it can be implemented in two to three months. Significantly, in 1968, a law was made in Madhya Pradesh under the name of Freedom of Religion Act.
In the BJP-ruled state of Karnataka, there is a plan to bring a law regarding love jihad. There Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa and many ministers are also talking about making such a law.
At the same time, the Haryana government has also said that they should bring a law against Love Jihad. After the killing of Nikita Tomar, many leaders in Haryana also demanded such a law. Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij has also spoken about bringing a law on love jihad in the assembly.
