Famitsu published the sales rankings of video games (physical copies) and consoles in Japan in the week included between March 4th and 10th. Let's start with the Top 10 software:
- [NSW] Unicorn Overlord – 40,991 / New
- [PS5] Final Fantasy VII Rebirth – 24,482 / 287,138
- [PS5] Unicorn Overlord – 24,398 / New
- [NSW] Fitness Boxing feat. Hatsune Miku: Isshoni Exercise – 14,128 / New
- [NSW] Mario vs. Donkey Kong – 13,238 / 116,761
- [NSW] Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – 11,669 / 5,739,869
- [NSW] Super Mario Bros. Wonder – 11,417 / 1,779,209
- [PS4] Unicorn Overlord – 8,797 / New
- [NSW] Momotaro Dentetsu World: Chikyuu wa Kibou de Mawatteru – 7,053 / 1,006,010
- [NSW] Splatoon – 6,460 / 4,246,168
The second value indicates the total copies sold to date ('New' means this is the first week of availability).
As we can see, Unicorn Overlord was able to overthrow Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. It should also be remembered that Japanese stocks turned out to be much lower than demand, to the point that Atlus had to apologize: we can therefore assume that the video game would have been able to do more if it hadn't been for this limit.
Japanese hardware sales
As for Japanese hardware sales, from 4 to 10 March the ranking is made up as follows:
- OLED Switches – 50,240
- PS5 – 34,799
- Switch Lite – 10,762
- Switches – 4,896
- PS5 Digital Edition – 4,265
- Xbox Series
- PS4 – 1,816
- Xbox Series S – 1,456
- New 2DS LL – 14
As always, Nintendo Switch dominates, but PS5 (standard at least) is able to not fall too far behind. PS4 continues to sell and even beats Xbox Series S.
