Change in the Agriculture Commission is requested after senator joins Podemos; Alan Rick is the nominee of União Brasil
the senator Soraya Thronicke (Podemos-MS) is vulnerable in the presidency of CRA (Agriculture and Agrarian Reform Commission) of Casa Alta. The demand is from União Brasil, which claims the post of the congresswoman on the collegiate after she left the party to join Podemos. The change was announced on June 26.
To the Power360the leader of União Brasil in the Senate, Efraim Filho (União-PB), confirmed the information. According to the Congressman, Alan Rick (União-AC) is the party’s nominee for the post. He also stated that the change is based on article 81, paragraph 2 of the regiment of the Senate.
In the document, it is stated that “the seat on the commission belongs to the party or parliamentary bloc, and the respective leader is responsible for requesting, in a written document, the replacement, under any circumstances or opportunity, of a member or alternate appointed by him”. However, União Brasil and Podemos are part of the same parliamentary bloc in the Senate, which gives room for the congresswoman to remain president of CRA.
The passage quoted by the senator also states that the “replacement of a Senator who holds the chair of the committee must be preceded by authorization from the majority of the respective bench, except in the event of his/her resignation from the party he/she represents there”. It is in him that Efraim finds a gap for change to occur.
The interpretation of the article and the decision rest with the President of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), which until at least 11:06 pm on this Wednesday (5.Jul.2023) had not issued a statement.
