A 42-year-old man loses his life five days later following an accident: what happened
Let's get back to talking about safety on construction sites and in all workplaces. Unfortunately, the debate is always open because the number of accidents is always high, despite the various commitments made by categories of workers and companies. Another injury that turned out to be disastrous, this time in Monza. A 42-year-old worker of Egyptian origin lost his life: hit on the head by a piece of iron from a crane that broke off while he was working on a construction site.
The event dates back to Last April 24th and the man was immediately transported to hospital under code red. Unfortunately, despite timely help, his condition immediately appeared very serious and, after 5 days of hospitalization, the 42 year old lost his life.
In the early afternoon of Wednesday 24th the emergency call went out and the 118 health workers arrived on site together with the state police agents and the ATS staff. The causes of the accident are still being examined by the authorities and the prosecutor's office has opened a file to shed full light on the matter.
Once again we are faced with a tragedy on the workplace, which highlights the importance of taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of workers. We cannot allow incidents like this to happen again. It is essential that all regulations are respected and that careful risk assessment is promoted in every working context.
To prevent accidents at work, it is essential to adopt prevention and protection measures, such as providing correct training to workers, ensuring compliance with safety standards, carrying out periodic checks on the work environment, providing adequate equipment and personal protective equipment, promoting a culture of safety in the workplace. The life of every single worker is precious and we cannot allow it to be undermined risk in the name of work.
