Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and in the presence of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, King of the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, the Higher Committee for Human Fraternity hosted yesterday a special ceremony at the Statue of Zayed the Founder in Abu Dhabi, to award the Zayed Prize for Human Fraternity 2022 to the honorees of this year’s session, who are His Majesty King Abdullah II, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, as well as the Foundation for Knowledge and Freedom “Focal”, the humanitarian organization in the Republic of Haiti.

The ceremony was also attended by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and H.E. Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, as well as members of the Higher Committee for Human Fraternity and members of the judging committees of the Zayed Prize for Human Fraternity. His Holiness Pope Francis, Pope of the Catholic Church, and the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, participated in the ceremony, in celebration of the achievements of the honored. Counselor Mohamed Abdel Salam, Secretary-General of the Higher Committee for Human Fraternity, delivered a speech during the ceremony. The Zayed Prize for Human Fraternity is one of the most important initiatives of the Higher Committee for Human Fraternity, an independent international committee established to promote the values contained in the Document on Human Fraternity signed by His Holiness Pope Francis, Pope of the Catholic Church and His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in Abu Dhabi in 2019, with the aim of promoting The values of peace, dialogue and coexistence.

Yesterday, the Higher Committee for Human Fraternity announced the selection of Jordan’s King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah, along with the Knowledge and Freedom Foundation (FOCAL), the humanitarian organization in the Republic of Haiti, to honor them with the Zayed Prize for Human Fraternity in its 2022 edition, in recognition of their efforts In promoting human brotherhood, respect for diversity and peaceful coexistence, and in support of maintaining the continuity of these efforts for human dignity and tolerance.
The Zayed Prize for Human Fraternity aims to celebrate the efforts of individuals and initiating entities to make great contributions to the advancement of humanity and the promotion of peaceful coexistence. The Human Fraternity Document is the cornerstone of the award, as a global moral reference for strengthening human ties and religious values, a human constitution to achieve peace, dialogue and pluralism, and an inspiring guide for future generations, guiding them towards ways to promote coexistence and acceptance of the other.
