During the 51 years, the wise leadership has been keen to provide a decent life for citizens, and means of comfort and well-being for all, through the construction of ready-made housing, paving roads and facilitating services, providing jobs in the public and private sectors, and establishing universities and schools, to qualify generations capable of continuing the march of giving and achievements.
The emirate also witnessed important archaeological discoveries dating back to 2000 BC, adding to the emirate’s civilization and ancient history.
Umm Al Quwain receives great attention from the wise leadership, as it has witnessed remarkable development, and has achieved a safety rate in reducing alarming crimes in various regions, and has become a tourist and historical destination, due to its natural and heritage components, and is moving rapidly to keep pace with urban development.
X development
One of the most important vital projects in the emirate is the Al Seniya Island development project, the first phase of which was announced recently. It includes the construction of a bridge linking the island to the emirate, connected to Al Ittihad Street, at a cost of 300 million dirhams. Umm Al Quwain Real Estate undertakes the tasks of all phases of the project, which has a total cost of 2.47 billion dirhams, and includes approximately 300 luxury villas overlooking the waterfront, 250 “townhouses” and 14 buildings containing approximately 570 housing units, two hotels, and 85 Hectares of gardens and open spaces, extensive recreational paths to explore the island, in addition to a variety of restaurants and shops, along with wonderful beaches and advanced facilities.
Ready housing
The competent authorities have completed the completion of 118 new homes, including 78 in Al Tasamoh 2 neighborhood, and 40 in Oud Al Tayer area, which come as part of governmental initiatives and charitable institutions, aiming to provide a decent life for citizen families, and relieve them of financial burdens.
These homes are added to a series of ready-made homes that were built in the past years, including 238 homes in various regions of the emirate, in addition to the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program complex in the City of Martyrs in Umm Al Quwain, which includes 232 homes for citizens, at a cost of 324 million dirhams.
Archaeological discoveries
The Department of Tourism and Antiquities in Umm Al Quwain announced archaeological discoveries on Al Seniya Island in the emirate, which are two coastal settlements, the oldest of which date back to the thirteenth or fourteenth century, which confirms that the history of settlement in the emirate reaches more than 500 years.
The two settlements adjoin each other on Al Seniya Island, and are characterized by low hills covered with shards of pots, representing the remains of fallen stone buildings or oyster shells. .
A historical Christian monastery was discovered on the island of Seniya, dating back to the period between the sixth and eighth centuries AD, and it consists of a group of community buildings, a church, a dining hall, and cisterns surrounded by isolated rooms for monks, and the pottery and glass extracted from the site indicate that the inhabitants of the monastery had international trade ties that extended From Iraq to India.
Road projects
The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has implemented road projects in various regions of Umm Al Quwain, as part of the vital and important projects implemented by the wise government, in order to facilitate the movement of citizens and residents in the various regions of the emirate, and to achieve a smooth movement in the internal and external streets, and to provide safety and security for road users.
blue economy
In implementation of the Umm Al Quwain Sustainable Blue Economy Strategy 2031, the Sustainable Blue Economy Office was established, working on the implementation of 8 vital and important projects, aimed at achieving sustainable economic growth, protecting and rehabilitating the marine environment, and ensuring optimal use of the emirate’s natural resources. Umm Al Quwain’s strategy for the sustainable blue economy is characterized by the fact that it sets clear economic development goals, based on the strengths that characterize the emirate, and includes a clear list of applicable transformative projects, with measurable and follow-up targets, and is in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler. Umm Al Quwain aims to make the emirate a pioneering model and a destination for investment in the sectors of the sustainable blue economy in the region by 2031, and to reach at least 40% of the contribution of the blue economy to the emirate’s gross domestic product.
desalination station
Union Water and Electricity started operating the new water desalination plant in Umm Al Quwain, which is considered the second largest project in the UAE, and one of the largest projects of reverse osmosis plants in the world, with a cost of about 2.2 billion dirhams, and it was implemented in two phases, the first with a production capacity of 50 One million gallons per day, and the second phase begins with the production of 150 million gallons of water per day, and covers all the Union’s needs for water and electricity in the northern regions. The station is located in the Al-Mafaq area in Umm Al-Quwain, on an area of 250 thousand square meters, and 4 thousand workers, technicians and engineers worked on the project. The station is environmentally friendly, and environmental studies have been conducted to ensure the safety of the marine environment, and all chemicals used in the station have no effect on marine life. Union Water and Electricity has completed most of the water network, which includes main transmission lines, distribution lines, water tanks and pumping stations to cover all regions of the Northern Emirates, replacing old water networks, and establishing new distribution networks with the aim of reducing water loss as much as possible.

The Emirate of Umm Al Quwain includes more than 72 electricity distribution stations in various regions, which were established as part of the development projects of the “Union Water and Electricity” in the emirate, to keep pace with urban development and the population and industrial boom, and to maintain the quality of services provided by them to the public.
5 centers
The Department of Civil Defense in Umm Al Quwain achieved a global average in the speed of response to accidents during the past year, as a result of the presence of 5 management centers located in different regions, which contributed to the speedy arrival of teams to the accident sites, in addition to the continuous support of the Ministry of Interior in providing advanced mechanisms and equipment, modern devices and technologies. Innovative, which contributed greatly to the development of services and rescue, in addition to the use of foreigners with experience and competence from the company “My services”, as well as the creation of a section for dangerous materials for communications, in which the team inspects the site of the accident and makes sure that there are no dangerous materials or gases, in addition to Subjecting firefighters to training sessions and morning exercises in order to raise the physical fitness of individuals.

The Umm Al Quwain National Theater in Al Qarayen, Umm Al Quwain, is preparing to open its new building, which was built on an area of 850 square meters, and can accommodate 260 people.
