After beating Munar and Taberner, the Marchesman must surrender to number 1 seed Ramos Vinolas in two sets for 6-2 6-1. Palermo, the Bronzetti beaten in the quarters by Ruse
Stefano Travaglia left the stage in the quarter-finals of the “Plava Laguna Croatia Open”, an ATP 250 tournament with a prize pool of 419,470 euros in progress on the red clay of the Teniski centar Stella Maris in Umag, Croatia. The 29-year-old from Ascoli Piceno, n.91 ATP, after having eliminated at his debut the Spaniard Jaume Munar, n.67 of the ranking and sixth favorite of the seeding, and having repeated on Wednesday against Carlos Taberner, also Spaniard, n.108 of the ranking , found a red light in front of the third Spaniard in a row, Albert Ramos Vinolas, n.43: 6-2 6-1 the score with which, in an hour and 7 minutes of play, the 33-year-old from Barcelona secured a place in the semifinal.
Women in Palermo
Lucia Bronzetti’s splendid adventure at the Palermo Ladies Open also stops in the quarter-finals. The blue tennis player loses in 2 sets, but comes out with her head held high against the player in the best shape of the circuit: the Romanian, Elena-Gabriela Ruse, in a positive streak of 12 games (from the qualifiers of the Wta 250 in Hamburg passing through the qualifiers of the Country never stopped). The break obtained in the third game of the first set proved decisive for Ruse who then finished 6-4. In the second set Bronzetti found herself leading 3-1, before undergoing 3 games in a row by the Romanian who at 5-5 got a new break going to close at 7-5. The balance of Bronzetti is, however, positive: for the second consecutive week she hit the quarters in a WTA tournament and has further improved her ranking (it will be 174 on Monday). La Ruse will face the French Océane Dodin (120) in the first semifinal tomorrow at 5pm.
