The famous italian song ‘Bella ciao’, which translates “Goodbye, beautiful”, became an anti-fascist resistance anthem during World War II. In addition, it has gained more popularity in recent years thanks to the Spanish series ‘La casa de papel’.
Although to this day the origin and author of the song is unknown, it has been readapted several times and in different countries such as protest chant and symbol of freedom and resistancethat is why his version from Ukraine is moving thousands of people.
The Ukrainian singer Khrystyna Soloviy is the interpreter of this version of ‘Bella ciao’, which she recently shared on her social networks with the message: “My version of a popular Italian song. I dedicate it to our heroes, the Armed Forces and all those who now fight for their homeland “.
Despite the war, Khrystyna Soloviy has not left Ukraine and she remains very active on her social networks telling what happens day after day in her country.
The lyrics of the song were modified by the young artist, who adapted it to the difficult situation that her country has been experiencing since February 24, when President Russia, Vladimir Putinordered his troops to invade Ukraine.

This armed conflict between the two countries that has claimed the lives of thousands of soldiers and civilians, as well as the exodus of more than 5 million Ukrainians to other countriesmainly from Europe.
“One morning at dawn the earth trembled, our blood immediately boiled, missiles fell from the sky, columns of tanks arrived, the old Dnieper river roared,” reads the beginning of this Ukrainian version.
“No one imagined it, nor did they think it, the true ukrainian furywe mercilessly killed the damned invading enemy that came to our land”.

The young woman also supports her country’s army in her version and mentions the Javelin missiles and the Bayraktar war drones: “The Territorial Defense Forces have the best boys. The heroes fight in our Armed Forces of Ukraine. Javelins and Bayraktars fight for the Ukraine, destroy the Russians.”
“Our people, the Ukrainians, have already united the whole world against Russia. Very soon there will be no more Russia and there will be peace in the whole world”, translates the final part of the song.
The Ukrainian version of ‘Bella ciao’ has already accumulated more than a million views on YouTube, Instagram and Twitter.
