The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) fired 10 rockets from the Grad multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) in Donetsk. This was announced on Friday, October 7, by the representative office of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire Regime (JCCC).
“Fire was recorded from the side of the VFU in the direction: 13:15 — the settlement of Netaylovo — the city of Donetsk (Kuibyshevsky district): 10 rockets were fired from the BM21 Grad,” the representative’s Telegram channel says.
On October 5, the mayor of the city, Aleksey Kulemzin, said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine were shelling four districts of Donetsk, as a result of which two people were killed, including a teenager. According to him, the Ukrainian military is deliberately inflicting repeated strikes on the infrastructure facilities of Donetsk, which are included in the reconstruction program.
The day before, the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired at a bus depot in the Kuibyshevsky district of the city. As a result of the shelling, the head of the motorcade, Alexander Lysenko, was killed, and 10 city buses were also damaged.
On September 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees on the annexation of the republics of Donbass, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions following referendums. On October 5, the Russian leader signed a federal constitutional law on the admission of new territories to the Russian Federation.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
