Akhmetov, 55, is on the list of the richest men in the world according to Forbes magazine, located in box 687, with a fortune close to 4.2 billion dollars, which in the face of the war launched by Russia on the 24th of February will be significantly reduced.

The reason for his demand will be the damages suffered and the economic losses generated by the Russian attack on Ukraine, and in general, the damage to his steel mill, which was the last concentration point of the Ukrainian defense in Mariupol.
“We will definitely sue Russia and demand proper compensation for all losses and lost business,” the businessman told local Ukrainian media.
In addition, in reference to the amount for which the state led by Vladimir Putin would be sued, he did not confirm a figure, although he did rule that it would be close to the losses generated by the war, close to 20,000 million dollars.
Regarding the operation of the steel mill, which is now under Russian power, he did not say much, since he had previously said: “We believe in our country and we believe in our victory”, with the firm hope of social, economic and territory of Ukraine.
The worrying figures of Mariúpol
And it is that at least 22,000 residents of Mariupol, in southeastern Ukraine, died during the three months of bombing and siege of the Russian troops to that coastal city.
According to calculations by the mayor’s adviser, Petro Andriushchenko, “Mariúpol is now a city of ghosts,” the municipal adviser told CNN when describing the situation in which the city finds itself.
Andriushchenko added that this death toll is based on calculations that he and other city officials have made through contacts with other municipal workers still trapped in the city.
However, the adviser said he believed that the real death toll could be much higher.
He also indicated that the process of burying the dead has been complicated, since the recovered bodies must first pass through the morgue and be claimed by someone from the Russian forces that control the city.
And the person who claims them is forced to agree to be recorded on a video in which he has to ensure that the deceased was killed by the Ukrainian army, Andriushchenko denounced.
Being controlled by the Russians, the local administrations of Mariupol are being replaced by new organizations imposed by Russia, although some of their officials remain in the city and try to report what is happening in the area abroad, with data that cannot be verified with independent sources.
Andriushchenko already reported on Tuesday the discovery of almost 200 bodies in a state of decomposition under the rubble in one of the basements of the port city.
