The National Police of Ukraine announced on Wednesday that it will send additional forces to the conflict zone in the east of the country. in order to guarantee public order, while the call for reservists between 18 and 60 years of age began throughout the country. “Police units are part of the joint forces involved in operations in eastern Ukraine (…). The decision has been made to increase them with additional units“, said the number two of the National Police, Oleksandr Fatsévich, in a press appearance.
He specified that the additional police contingents will be sent before the end of this week.
Fatsevich indicated that the mission of the agents is to preserve public orderwhile the National Guard and members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine carry out the tasks of dealing with Russian aggression.
“We have made the decision to strengthen the police presence to guarantee public order and secure the rear“, he insisted.
For its part, the command of the Army communicated on Facebook that this Wednesday began the call to reservists aged between 18 and 60 yearsafter the order given on Tuesday night in this regard by the Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenski.
The recruitment period is for a maximum of one year and in the first stage it is aimed at those who served in special units and signed service contracts in the operational reserve.
“According to Ukrainian law, reservists retain their jobs and their average monthly salary,” the statement said.
The non-appearance of the reservists constitutes a crime that is sanctioned administratively or criminally, depending on the circumstances of each case.
