“We always tell our partners that we are obligated not to use weapons (provided by) foreign partners against the territory of Russia, but only against its units in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine,” Oleksey Reznikov said, during a press conference in Kyiv.
Reznikov’s speech comes after the Kremlin warned, on Wednesday, that long-range missiles, which were said to be part of an upcoming package of US military aid to Ukraine, would “exacerbate” the conflict.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry explained Peskov Providing Ukraine with missiles with a range of up to 150 kilometers will lead to “an escalation of tension. We see that this will require us to make an additional effort, but it will not change the course of events. The military operation will continue.”
This comes as the United States prepares a $2.2 billion military aid package for Ukraine.
Reuters quoted informed US officials as saying that the aid package to Ukraine is expected to include long-range missiles, ammunition and other weapons for the first time.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on more than one occasion for allies to provide his country with a long-range missile system.
