An entire unit of the Ukrainian army is said to have refused to go to war against Vladimir Putin’s troops. It’s about a sensitive section of the front.
Pokrovsk – Ukraine is now even attacking Russia in the Baltic Sea. More specifically, Ukrainian military intelligence HUR is sabotaging warships from Vladimir Putin’s Baltic Fleet.
Against Vladimir Putin’s army: Ukraine should send unprepared recruits to Donbass
While Kiev is also taking pinpricks against the Moscow regime here, the government and the general staff at home are apparently currently struggling with a significant problem – with inadequately trained recruits for the bloody Ukrainian war.
Now an entire unit is said to have refused to deploy on the heavily contested Donbass front. Specifically: As Ukrainian public television reported at the weekend, around 100 soldiers are said to have refused to be transferred to this section of the front. This is on the grounds that they do not have sufficient military training for such difficult tasks.
Ukraine War: Ukrainian recruits allegedly complain about poor armament
According to the report, the refusal to comply with orders took place in Voznesensk in the southern Ukrainian region of Mykolaiv. As the MDR writes on its news website, according to information that has not been officially confirmed, it was the 187th battalion of the 123rd territorial defense brigade. The soldiers therefore held a protest meeting at their location. They are said to have complained about the alleged poor training and the lack of weapons.
Explosive: According to MDR, the 186th battalion of the same brigade is said to have withdrawn from the front near Wuhledar, according to unofficial information, which is said to have helped the Russian army make a breakthrough there. The Donbass bastion of Wuhledar recently fell to the invasion troops of Kremlin autocrat Vladimir Putin after years of fighting. Russia’s armed forces should continue to be in control here militarily. Also because the Ukrainians can currently only counteract poorly trained recruits?
Ukraine’s losses: Many recruits are killed against the Russian army
The American one Financial Times (FT) had reported high losses among Ukrainian recruits against the Russian army at the end of September. Officers told the US newspaper that recruits were not well trained and were sometimes fearful. “Some of them just freeze because they are afraid to shoot at the enemy. They are sent back in sacks or seriously wounded,” said the commander of a unit fighting in Donetsk Oblast, for example FT.
Like the independent Eastern European Moscow Times writes, Kiev is currently drafting an average of around 30,000 new recruits per month into the Ukrainian war on the basis of a new conscription law (in force since May). These are said to be mostly young men without any combat experience. In Donbass, the military situation is tense and in places precarious. The effect hoped by the government and President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Kursk offensive in Russia would take pressure off the front lines in its own regions of Donetsk and Luhansk has largely fizzled out.

Donbass front in the Ukraine war: Russia continues to advance on Pokrovsk
The Defense Ministry in Moscow reported at the weekend that Russian soldiers had allegedly taken over the settlement of Shelannoye Vtoroye not far from Pokrovsk. There are currently many indications that Pokrovsk (formerly 60,000 inhabitants) could become the next hotly contested Ukrainian city in the Donbass after the fall of Avdiivka and Vuhledar. (pm)
