For the first time, Ukraine sent an attack reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) Bayraktar TB2, purchased earlier from Turkey, to patrol the Black Sea. This was announced on Wednesday, July 28, according to the Telegram channel. “Military Observer” with reference to data from the Flightradar 24 portal.
As follows from the information provided, the drone proceeded along the Black Sea coast of the Odessa region, flew over Odessa and headed towards Nikolaev. Other details of the flight are not provided.
On July 15, the Ukrainian Navy received the first Turkish unmanned complex Bayraktar TB2. At the base of the weapons of the Ukrainian Navy, its final tests were carried out. Defense Minister of Ukraine Andriy Taran said that the complex will be used to monitor and cover the coast and waters of the Black and Azov Seas.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the supply of Turkish UAVs for the Navy in early July. According to him, Ukrainian specialists have already completed training in managing Bayraktar TB2 in Turkey. He also noted that Turkey will build a modern corvette for Ukraine by 2023.
