Ukraine News: Scholz and Macron react cautiously after the phone call from Trump and Putin

Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock appealed to US President Donald Trump to not make any unprevious concessions at the expense of Ukraine in his discussion with Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin. It is now very important that Europeans and Americans acted together and closed, said the Greens politician at an EU Foreign Ministry in Brussels. The territorial integrity of Ukraine must be the basis of all negotiations and no options should be taken from the table beforehand.

Trump’s course is problematic from the perspective of many EU countries, because so far, concessions have been demanded above all. From a US perspective, Ukraine should give up its ambitions to a quick NATO joining and accept that part of its state is permanently under Russian control.
