In detail, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov stressed, in statements during his meeting with more than 100 Ukrainian developers and manufacturers of drones in Ukraine, in the presence of Ukrainian government officials and representatives of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, the importance of supporting the Ukrainian market of drones.
He said that these steps come “in order to meet the needs and requests of the Ukrainian army in the face of the large-scale Russian invasion.”
The Minister of Defense stressed the need to correct artillery units and launch strikes through marches, in addition to providing ammunition supplies and evacuating wounded soldiers from the battlefields.
He pointed out that the needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces at the present time are hundreds of thousands of marches with their various modifications, and work is underway to meet the mentioned needs.
He added that during the 8 months of the total war, more drones were operated than in the past five years.
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine pointed out that the independence of the Ukrainian military and industrial complex is one of the most important elements of the country’s defense capability, and at the present time one of the main directions of the Ministry is to develop and support the Ukrainian market for parades.
Ukraine’s first Canadian tank
On the other hand, Canada sent, yesterday, Saturday, the first of the promised Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, according to Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand.
The minister said, on Twitter, that a Canadian Air Force plane “took off from Halifax with the first Leopard 2 tank that we offer to Ukraine,” adding that her country “solidarizes Ukraine,” stressing the continuation of “providing the Ukrainian armed forces with the equipment they need to win.”
In another tweet, accompanied by a video showing the tank being loaded and the plane taking off, the minister said, “Battle tanks are on their way to help Ukraine. The first Canadian Leopard 2 tank has been sent. Canada’s support for Ukraine is unwavering.”
It is noteworthy that at the end of January, Canada announced its decision to deliver 4 German-made Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, following similar announcements by a number of Western countries.
