Ukraine issues new warning about possibility of World War III

The adviser to the Ukrainian presidency, Mijailo Podoliak, warned this Friday about the possible outbreak of the Third World War in the context of the conflict in Ukraine and the advance of Russia in that country.

According to the official at the service of the government of Volodomir Zelenski, Vladimir Putin considers that he has sufficient economic and military resources to continue hitting the Ukrainian east, to the point of wanting to conquer and take over a part of that country.

“It’s very simple. If Russia does not lose, Russian revenge and chauvinism will increase. They will be more and more serious. The Third World War, which is so feared, will take place,” Podoliak said.

In his appearance, the official also asked for more weapons from the West, especially the United States and the United Kingdom, which have contributed significant figures for the defense of Ukraine.

In addition, he did not miss an opportunity to once again highlight the Bucha massacre, in which Russian soldiers would have committed war crimes, and compared it to what is currently being experienced in the Donbas and Mariupol area, where Russia concentrates its military operations.

The Russian advance does not stop

The Russian Army broke through the Ukrainian lines in the Donetsk region by conquering the town of Liman and tightening the siege around Severodonetsk, key points in the plans for the final assault on the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk fortified district.

“In the north of the region the main objective of the Russians is Sloviansk-Kramatorsk,” said Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of the Donetsk military administration. Without having yet taken all the territory of the Luhansk region, the Russian troops have already managed to advance 60 kilometers behind the enemy lines between the two Donbas regions.

The pro-Russian militias claim to have taken “total control” of Limán “with the fire support of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.”

Kyrylenko confirmed to the Ukrainian outlet Hromadske that “most of Liman is not under the control of the Ukrainian military” and that the Ukrainian troops have withdrawn 90 kilometers to the south.

“The same is happening in the direction of Svitlodarsk. The enemy is now in that territory. The Ukrainian forces have regrouped to take fortified positions,” he explained. New US military support

Now, the Pentagon does not rule out the possibility of delivering long-range rockets to Ukraine to counter the Russian advance in Donbas.in the Ukrainian east, as the CNN television network has advanced.

This was stated by Pentagon spokesman John Kirby at a press conference where he noted that they knew that Ukraine was going to need long-range artillery fire since Russia decided to focus its offensive on eastern Ukraine.

Without wanting to specify whether Washington will finally deliver this type of weaponry from kyiv, Kirby stressed that they work “daily” to get weapons and defense systems to Ukraine. “We are in constant communication with them about their needs,” the US Department of Defense spokesman said.

In this sense, he affirmed that the United States is aware that the Ukrainians have requested “privately and publicly” rocket systems with multiple launchers, without wanting to confirm whether they will finally be supplied.

Kirby added that the US has so far provided kyiv with 10 aid packages and an 11th is in the works.

He recalled that the situation is “very dynamic” in Donbas: “There are cities and towns that fall into the hands of the Russians on a given day, and then the Ukrainians take them back. There is still a lot of give and take,” he said. However, he admitted that the Russians are making “increasing profits” in Donbas.

The CNN channel, which quoted government officials, assured in the last hours that the US government could announce, as soon as next week, the shipment to Ukraine of multiple launch rocket systems, known as MLRS, for its acronym in English, within a broader military assistance package to defend against the Russian invasion.
