It is now known that Putin wants to at least depose the incumbent President Zelenskyj. Now there are rumors about the possible successor.
Apparently there is a successor who is to take the place of the incumbent Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, in the Ukraine conflict – at least according to Vladimir Putin’s ideas. According to several media reports based on information from the Ukrainian secret service, an old acquaintance of the Russian President is to be deployed.
This man is supposed to become Putin’s puppet in Ukraine
We’re talking about Viktor Yanukovych. He was President of Ukraine from 2010 to 2014. His tenure ended with riots in Kyiv. He fled the country and was subsequently declared deposed by the Ukrainian parliament. As Putin later explained, Yanukovych is said to have fled to Russia and had received the support of the Russian government.
An international arrest warrant was issued against the Ukrainian ex-president at Interpol – but the manhunt was stopped in 2015. He himself regards his removal from office as illegal.
Ukraine conflict: Russian “special operation” to depose Zelenskyj
According to a KyivPost post, Yanukovych is already in the Belarusian capital of Minsk. Here, too, there is talk of the Kremlin wanting to put the former Ukrainian president back in office.
Among other things, the Ukrainian newspaper reports Pravda that Putin is planning a “special operation” in the course of the Ukraine war to depose the current President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Whether the “special operation” refers to the invasion of Putin’s private Chechen army in front of Kyiv remains to be seen. It has not yet been confirmed whether his actual successor will be Yanukovych. (mda)
