Against the backdrop of Moscow’s special operation in Ukraine, the British authorities decided to allocate an additional $100 million to support the Ukrainian economy. This was announced on Sunday, March 6, by the press service of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
“The UK will allocate an additional $100 million directly to the government budget of Ukraine to alleviate the financial pressure created by Russia’s unprovoked and illegal invasion,” the statement said.
It is clarified that the funds are intended to pay salaries to employees of the public sector, as well as to support social security and pay pensions to Ukrainian residents.
The press service added that the amount will be allocated through the World Bank.
