The government of the United Kingdom announced this Monday (8) that as of November 22 it will recognize all vaccines against Covid-19 in the list of emergency use of the World Health Organization (WHO) administered to passengers traveling to the country.
Thus, those fully vaccinated with immunizations from Sinovac (Coronavac), Sinopharm and Covaxin will no longer be required to take a pre-departure test, another on the eighth day and quarantine after arrival. Passengers, in addition to presenting a vaccination certificate, will only need to pay for a test to be taken before the end of the second day after arrival in the UK.
The British government previously recognized only Pfizer/BioNTech, AstraZeneca (including Covishield), Moderna and Janssen vaccines.
The UK government has also simplified travel rules for all under-18s arriving in England, who will be considered to be fully vaccinated and will be exempt from the requirements for pre-departure testing, another on the eighth day and quarantine. They will only be required to take a post-arrival test and a free confirmation PCR test if the result is positive.
This Monday, the United States opened its borders to visitors from 33 countries, including Brazil, as long as they prove that they are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and test negative for the disease.
