The UK government is considering “providing Starstreak high-speed anti-aircraft missiles” at Ukraine’s request as “a defensive weapon”, the British Defense Minister told the House of Commons on Wednesday. , Ben Wallace.

He explained that this type of portable missile, designed to provide “close air defense against conventional air threats such as fixed-wing fighter jets”, according to the manufacturers, would allow the Ukrainian Armed Forces to “better protect their skies”.

Wallace said the UK would also increase the supply of “rations, medical equipment and other non-lethal military assistance” as the Russian offensive intensifies. According to the minister, the British government has so far sent 3,615 NLAW anti-tank missiles, as well as small arms and ammunition to Ukraine, and is preparing to send Javelin anti-tank missiles as well.
