Fine of 80,000 euros and closure of the ultras’ stands during a match and a one-match ban for their coach for delaying the start of the duel
He Warsaw Legion has been fined 80,000 euros and the partial closure of its stadium due to the behavior of its ultras during the match on the first day of the league phase of the Conference that faced the Real Betis last October 3. Before starting the duel, the Zyleta stands showed a huge tifo with the image of a bull in front of people running and several dozen flares were lit.
In this way, the 80,000 euros fine is divided into 50,000 for the use of pyrotechnic material, 20,000 for cutting traffic lanes and 10,000 for the delay in the start of the match. At the same time the ultra stands are closed during a match and Coach Gonçao Feio is punished with a suspension duel for his attitude to motivate the game to start later, as well as one of the Polish team’s physiotherapists for “unsportsmanlike behavior.”
UEFA wants to be very forceful with these events and that is why it has applied severe punishments to the clubs that commit these infractions. It should be remembered that the Polish authorities detained several Betis fans for hours after the match when they were also accused of lighting flares.
Betis fell in that duel 1-0 on the first day of the 2024-25 Conference and next Thursday they face the duel against Copenhagen at the Villamarín.
