With a message recently arrived, Ubisoft has made the decision to shut down the servers of Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad, the free-to-play mobile game that officially unveiled in August last year. The title united, within the same title, characters from other sagas such as Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, The Division, Splinter Cell, HAWX, EndWar and many others.
This message was released today, after the announcement of the latest official game update, which will see the official closure of the servers on October 4, 2021. The title, which has just entered its Season 2, had in the past had some criticisms regarding the antagonist terrorist group.
Obviously, as also confirmed by the team itself, anyone who wants to start their adventure now can do it but it will not be possible to continue beyond next October 4th, the last day on which the servers will be up and running. Through a press release, available on the official website, the team explained the reasons behind this decision.
Although this title has been officially closed, Ubisoft doesn’t seem to want to completely abandon the idea of a free-to-play title. In fact, it has recently been announced Tom Clancy’s XDefiant, a new chapter that takes inspiration from the novels of the famous author, which, however, the company has confirmed not to arrive on Steam, at least after the official launch.

Below we post the translation of the press release, after Ubisoft’s decision to close the servers of its mobile game Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad.
It is with great sadness that we announce that we will no longer be releasing new content for Elite Squad. Today’s update is our last and on October 4th 2021 we will shut down the servers.
It wasn’t an easy decision, but we explored multiple options with our team, coming to the conclusion that it was no longer sustainable. We want to assure you that we have done our best, especially with a big update like Season 2 and it has been a truly rewarding experience to work with you, our passionate community!
We sincerely hope you enjoyed playing with us as much as we enjoyed creating the game and interacting with you on social media and Discord. We hope you stay with us and enjoy reaching level 70 so that you can unlock as many soldiers as possible before saying goodbye.
Thanks everyone for playing.
From the whole TCES team.
