Experts in international relations described the UAE’s foreign policy as “successful relations diplomacy”, stressing rational and balanced foreign policies regionally and internationally, noting the trends based on basic pillars and firm constants, represented in the keenness to establish distinguished relations with all countries of the world, taking into account the good Neighborhood, respect for the sovereignty of states, non-interference in their internal affairs, and work to spread the principles of peace, which has resulted in the establishment of bilateral, tripartite and quadrilateral partnerships and alliances between the UAE and most countries of the world.
Joint cooperation
In the Republic of Turkey, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, will discuss today, Wednesday, with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Turkey, bilateral relations, and ways to enhance cooperation and joint work between the two countries in various fields. In order to achieve their mutual interests, in addition to all the regional and international issues and developments of interest to the two countries.
The official visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the Republic of Turkey comes at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. It was preceded by a phone call on August 30, during which they discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance and develop them to serve the common interests of the two friendly countries and peoples, in addition to exchanging views on a number of international and regional issues and files.

Diplomacy and Communication
During one of his recent lectures, the diplomatic advisor to His Highness the President said: “Confrontation is not the most productive path. Diplomacy and strengthening communication with everyone is the best way to move forward. Therefore, we are working hard to build bridges of communication with all countries, including those with which we have serious differences,” noting that the focus on diplomacy and communication will be the heart of the UAE’s foreign policy in the post-pandemic stage, and that wherever it can, it will seek with the start of Its work as a representative of the Arab Group in the Security Council, to build bridges between great powers, and dialogue with other countries to explore how to promote an open and cooperative world order.

The UAE maintains diplomatic relations with 189 countries around the world, and there are 110 foreign embassies and 75 general consulates on its territory, as well as the headquarters of 15 regional and international organizations, and the number of its embassies abroad reaches nearly 70, and 11 consulates, in addition to three permanent missions.
Dr. Hoda Ragheb Awad, an expert in international relations and a professor of political science at the American University in Cairo, stresses, in statements to Al-Ittihad, the importance of the UAE’s foreign policy orientations aimed at strengthening regional and international relations, and expanding the circle of foreign relations, taking into account good neighborliness and respect for the sovereignty of the United Arab Emirates. States and their territorial integrity, non-interference in their internal affairs, and adherence to the United Nations Charter and international laws and conventions, which resulted in the establishment of bilateral, tripartite and quadrilateral partnerships and alliances between the UAE and the majority of countries in the world.

Ambassador Gamal Bayoumi, an expert in international relations and former assistant foreign minister of Egypt, confirms in statements to Al-Ittihad that the secret of the success of the UAE foreign policy is the presence of a real will on the part of the leadership, government and people to bring the UAE to the front lines in the global race towards progress and development in various fields. The areas, whether diplomatic, economic, political or social, as well as the existence of basic pillars and firm constants upon which the foreign policy is based.

An effective role

History records a number of historical peace initiatives adopted by the UAE, through which it contributed to spreading a culture of tolerance and peace in the world, and succeeded in defusing and mitigating a number of crises and conflicts, foremost of which is defusing the longest conflict in Africa between Ethiopia and Eritrea, as well as On the signing of a historic peace agreement with Israel. The UAE also played a pivotal role in achieving consensus between the transitional government in Sudan and some armed movements, in addition to its launch of the document “Human Fraternity for World Peace and Coexistence”.

Dr. Nadia Helmy, an expert in international relations and a professor of political science, points to the importance of the initiatives adopted by the UAE diplomacy in the field of maintaining security and stability, whether at the Gulf, Arab or global levels, as well as its continued commitment to support and help brothers and neighboring countries to ward off dangers. Former Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister Hussein Haridi says that the Turkish steps during the past two years to improve relations with the Gulf states and Egypt are an attempt to return to the policy of “zero crises.” In statements to “Sky News Arabia”, he considers that President Erdogan is trying to employ foreign policy in the service of the Turkish economy, which was represented in reducing problems with the major powers in the Middle East.
