Dubai will host the activities of the World Humanitarian Summit on March 30, 2022, which was announced on the sidelines of the World Humanitarian Day, as the summit aims to find appropriate solutions to some of the ongoing issues around the world, including the challenges of the emerging Corona Virus (Covid-19) pandemic, and other issues related to racism, gender equality, intolerance and discrimination.
The World Humanitarian Summit brings together governmental, charitable and religious institutions, human rights institutions, intellectuals, artists, media professionals, cultural associations and the private sector, with the aim of holding dialogues and shedding light on current concerns that the world needs to address, at Expo 2020 Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
The summit discusses today’s crises that have become larger and more complex than before and continue for many years, which makes providing humanitarian aid and extending a helping hand more difficult. The summit discusses coordination and concerted efforts towards providing foreign aid and responding to humanitarian crises and natural disasters. The summit plays a key role in supporting and assisting international humanitarian organizations that can improve people’s lives, and save more lives.

And in culmination of this role came the announcement of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President The State, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, announced the opening of the door for workers in the humanitarian sector to obtain golden residency in the country, in conjunction with the World Humanitarian Day, in appreciation of their efforts and sacrifices.
Daoud Al-Shezawi, Secretary-General of the Board of Trustees of the Summit, spoke about the pioneering role of the UAE throughout its history through humanitarian work at the regional and global levels. He said: This policy has contributed to making the UAE at the fore, regionally and globally in the fields of relief and humanitarian work, and this is evident Through the establishment of hundreds of humanitarian projects and institutions, the UAE plays a leading humanitarian role, after allocating resources and efforts to empower communities and remove barriers to sustainable development.
It is worth noting that gender equality and women’s empowerment are among the topics that will be addressed in the work of the World Humanitarian Summit with the aim of enabling private organizations and governments to promote an equal world. The sessions will focus on building an inclusive environment for women and people of determination in society. The World Humanitarian Summit will be held using the latest digital technologies and in a hybrid form via the “Events 10X” platform, and will serve as a powerful dialogue platform by highlighting the vital issues for building a peaceful, healthy and liveable society based on mutual respect and understanding. The summit will also host dialogues by elite leaders around the world with the aim of exchanging views and discussion on topics, such as the increasing division around the world due to extremism and intolerance, which played an opposite role towards achieving happiness, love and prosperity in societies, in addition to discussing the development of a mechanism and policies to confront these issues, and to present proposals and initiatives To support and promote human brotherhood and tolerance.
