The United Arab Emirates announced that it has provided five million US dollars in relief aid to affected civilians in Ukraine, in response to the United Nations urgent appeal and the Regional Refugee Response Plan in Ukraine, which reflects the country’s focus on the principles of human solidarity in conflict situations.
The UAE stresses the importance of focusing on the deteriorating humanitarian situation for civilians and ensuring their protection, as well as allowing entry for humanitarian agencies, establishing safe corridors, and allowing anyone who wishes to leave to do so without discrimination or obstacles, as stated in the UAE statement, and what was discussed during the Security Council meeting held on February 28 on the humanitarian situation in Ukraine.
Yesterday, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, launched an official appeal for funding for the United Nations humanitarian operations in Ukraine, where the United Nations reports that this funding is urgent to help and support thousands of people who suffer from a lack of access to basic services.
