A two-year-old shot and killed his mother in the US while she was participating in an internet video meeting. The drama took place on August 11 in Florida. The child’s father was arrested on Tuesday for not storing his weapon out of the child’s reach.
The 22-year-old man had put his weapon, which was loaded, in a backpack belonging to children’s television program Paw Patrol. The child found the weapon and killed his 21-year-old mother with a single bullet to the head.
A recent report by Everytown For Gun Safety, an organization that fights for stricter gun laws, shows that every year hundreds of children in the US get their hands on loaded firearms and fire them unintentionally.
Since 2015, accidental shots fired by minors have killed 879 people in the US.
