Two officers of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine were taken prisoner in the Andreevsky direction in the Kherson region. Kirill Stremousov, deputy head of the regional administration, announced this on October 9.
“Two GUR officers were taken prisoner in the Andreevsky direction. A video from the interrogation is expected, ”Stremousov said in the Telegram channel.
He also said that the Ukrainian fighters made an attempt to break through in the direction of the village of Borozenskoe, but, having received a rebuff, retreated to their original positions, losing three tanks and five infantry fighting vehicles.
On October 9, Stremousov announced that the nationalists were unable to develop an offensive in the Kherson direction. According to him, the situation on the contact line there remains unchanged.
On October 7, Stremousov said that the militants ran into a layered defense of the Russian military in the Kherson region. He also expressed confidence that any attempts by the enemy to attack the region would not be successful.
Before that, on October 6, he said that the Ukrainian nationalists were rebuffed in the Kherson region, their advance in the northern part of the region was stopped. According to him, 300 Ukrainian soldiers die there every day.
On the same day, the acting governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, also noted that the nationalists would not be able to take Kherson. He pointed out that the situation on the line of contact in the Kherson region has stabilized.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. The decision was made against the backdrop of the aggravated situation in the region due to increased shelling by Ukrainian troops.
