The two-time winner of the Frankfurt Marathon, Brimin Misoi Kipkorir, has been closed for five years for doping. The independent Integrity Commission (AIU) of the World Athletics Association imposed the lock against the 35-year-old Kenyan because of taking the forbidden blood dopics EPO and Furosemide. Furosemides lead to drainage of the body and can thus disguise the use of other forbidden substances. Since then he has been suspended. In addition, all results of the athlete have been revoked since the positive doping test of November 22nd last year. The maximum possible lock of six years had originally been imposed due to aggravating circumstances. Because Misoi Kipkorir showed a reasonable manner and accepted the punishment, the lock was reduced by one year. Misoi Kipkorir won the Frankfurt Marathon in 2022 and 2023. The two victories thus continue to exist. The Ethiopian long -distance runner Alemtsehay Asefa was blocked by the AIU for 24 months due to several violations of the obligation to stay in the residence in 2023. The punishment applies retrospectively from March 18, 2024. In addition, all results have been canceled since October 24, 2023.
