Both have numerous criminal records for similar events.
The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia investigated two hunters who were caught hunting without permission in a private reserve in Torre Pacheco and during the closed season, for which they were instructed as alleged perpetrators of a crime related to the protection of the flora, fauna and domestic animals, according to sources from the Benemérita in a statement.
The actions took place a few days ago, within the services planned and carried out by the Nature Protection Service (Seprona) of the Civil Guard, with the aim of preventing crimes against flora and fauna, specifically the exercise of hunting poaching in the greyhound hunting modality.
In one of these devices that was being carried out in the municipality of Pacheco, a Nature Protection Patrol surprised a man who had released four greyhounds that he was transporting in the trunk of his vehicle to hunt down a hare. The next day, in the same place, another male neighbor was detected carrying out the same activity.
The two hunters were investigated and proceedings have been instructed as alleged perpetrators of a crime related to the protection of flora, fauna and domestic animals (hunting crime), for hunting on privately owned hunting land lacking authorization and closed season.
In addition, complaints have been made both to those investigated and to several companions for infractions detected in matters of Animal Protection, Animal Health and General Vehicle Regulations, among others.
Due to the orography of the land and the change from irrigated to dry farming in the area, in the municipality of Torre Pacheco there are ideal lands for hunting with greyhounds, which means that they are attended by amateurs who carry out this activity illegally and cause damage to agricultural land, sometimes coming to conflict with the owners of the preserves and the owners of the farms.
Those investigated, who have numerous antecedents for similar events, along with the proceedings instructed, were made available to the San Javier Investigating Court.
