The incident occurred when the Italian Air Force was carrying out exercises.

Two pilots of the italian air force died this Tuesday, March 7, after two planes collided during routine training near Rome.

Four Siai Marchetti 208 model military aircraft participated in the preparation exercises, according to NTN24.

The mishap occurred in Guidonia Montecelio, a municipality near Rome and which is part of the province with the same name as the Italian capital.

The Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, regretted the incident. “The news of the death of two Air Force pilots in a plane crash in Guidonia, near Rome, fills us with sadness,” she said.

The official added: “On behalf of the Government, I express my deepest condolences and my closeness to the families, colleagues from Ala 60 and the entire body of the Air Force. Our prayers go to them.”

According to what was reported by NTN24the crash caused one of the parts of the plane to fall on a car in the heart of the urban area, but there were no fatalities.

The second aircraft crashed on a cleared area, a few kilometers from the Guidonia military airport.

Eyewitnesses to the accident They pointed out that this occurred after one of the planes lost a wing. However, the authorities began an investigation into the facts.
