Two miners died in a rock collapse at the SD Tikhov mine (part of the Industrial and Metallurgical Holding, PMH) in Leninsk-Kuznetsk, Kemerovo Region. This was reported by TASS operational duty officer of the regional department of Rostekhnadzor.
The collapse occurred as a result of a methane release. At the moment, searches are underway for another miner, who, presumably, is under the rubble.
“Mine named after Tikhov, the dispatcher called the VGSCh (paramilitary mine rescue unit). [Произошел] sudden release of coal and gas in the preparation face. Three branches of the VGSS went to the emergency facility. Upon arrival at the site, one victim with no signs of life was found – a mining foreman. Second [погибшего] found. In total, two were killed, one has not yet been found, ”said the agency’s source.
As reported Interfax With reference to the press service of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee for the region, the investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a case on the discovery of the bodies of two miners who died in the collapse of the mine. The case was initiated under Part 3 of Article 217 (violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous production facilities).
At the time of the accident, there were 44 people underground, of whom 41 were evacuated. The Tikhov mine in Leninsk-Kuznetsky was commissioned in 2017.
On January 9, about 200 miners were evacuated from the Sheregeshskaya mine in the Tashtagol region of Kuzbass due to a fire.
