The Competition Committee has sanctioned Yan Eteki with two games for his expulsion against Villarreal. Pizarro Gómez explained in the minutes of the meeting that he expelled the Nasrid midfielder “for addressing me, yelling at me, in the following terms: ‘This is a shame”. This reaction from the midfielder leaves Diego Martínez without Eteki for the next two games.
Granada did not end up happy with the refereeing from Madrid. Two rigorous penalties designated at the request of the VAR, captained for this match by De Burgos Bengoetxea, were about to leave Diego Martínez’s team without loot. The first of them, Foulquier over Pedraza, was converted by Moi Gómez. The second, even more debatable of Eteki on Yeremi Pino, already stopped him in the discount Rui Silva.
Curiously, The De Burgos Bengoetxea – Pizarro Gómez duo was the same one who directed, with the roles reversed (the Basque on the pitch and the Madrid player in the VOR room) Granada – Barcelona in which the rojiblancos also ended up very unhappy with the arbitration decisions.
The loss of Eteki will leave even more unguarded the center of the rojiblanco field. Gonalons is still injured, Yangel will be dropped on Sunday due to card accumulation and Azeez has asked to leave of the club, so Luis Milla and Montoro will only be available against Osasuna (El Sadar, 14:00). Diego will have to rebuild his core in the middle of another storm of games.
The clash against Osasuna will be followed during the week by the Copa del Rey round of 16 match and on Sunday January 31 (18:30) he will host Celta at Los Cármenes. The calendar continues without giving truce to the Nasrid, who have already played a total of 31 official matches So far this season, more than any other Spanish soccer team.
