The corona numbers in Germany are increasing. Two federal states have reacted and are enabling the 2G rule in the supermarket. There is still no clear signal from NRW.
Hamm – Lower Saxony and Hesse are showing the way: Both federal states allow the 2G rule for food retailers in view of rising corona numbers. Dealers can only let in those who have recovered or have been vaccinated – if they want to. The big retail chains – Aldi, Kaufland, Rewe and Co. – have positioned themselves.

Anyone entering the supermarket must wear a mask and keep their distance. This is what the rules have provided since the beginning of the corona pandemic. So far, nobody has to provide proof of vaccination, test or recovery. That could change fundamentally at 2G. The trade association (HDE) welcomes the freedom of choice for the trade, but fears restrictions if it is used.
