It is noted that the Omicron strain was found in two people who came to the country from South Africa.
“This is to be expected, and therefore our strategy is to continue intensive monitoring of the infection in the country. We want to take the time to get as many vaccinations as possible and get through the winter before it actually comes to Denmark, ”said Director General of the Institute Henrik Ullum.
It is clarified that those in contact with the sick were sent to quarantine.
Earlier on November 28, it was reported that in the Netherlands, 13 tourists from South Africa were diagnosed with a new strain of coronavirus. A total of 61 people arrived in the country on several flights, before flights were banned. All of them were placed in isolation and tested for COVID-19.
Also on this day, doctors from South Africa said that the new strain is rapidly spreading among people aged 20 to 30 years. At the same time, the majority of patients are admitted to hospitals with moderate and severe illnesses, some of them need intensive care.
A day earlier, the head of the World Medical Association (WMA) Frank Ulrich Montgomery expressed concern over the spread of a new strain of coronavirus. According to him, the new variant of the virus can be comparable to Ebola in terms of the degree of danger.
Russian authorities are urging residents to get vaccinated to protect their health and take care of their loved ones. Citizens are vaccinated for free. Five vaccines against coronavirus have been registered in the country: Sputnik V, which became the first vaccine against COVID-19 in the Russian Federation and the world, as well as Sputnik Light, EpiVacCorona, EpiVacCorona-N and KoviVak.
